Behind the Screen – A Blog
My Own Website: A Fresh Start
When you spend most of your time building and rebuilding websites for clients, your own site is usually the one that gets ignored. This year, I finally took time to give johncorner.co.uk a full redevelopment – cleaner code, modern UX, stronger SEO and subtle Depeche Mode–influenced design woven throughout.

Why I Rebuilt My Website
My old site had become a mix of legacy layouts, outdated modules and content that no longer reflected my current level of work. With Divi 5 arriving, it was the perfect opportunity to rebuild everything with a clearer structure, a consistent look and a more personal feel.
A Divi 5-First Rebuild
The new site is built using a full Divi 5-first system, complete with global presets, cleaner typography and functional layouts. I’ve leaned into the subtle, moody contrasts and minimalist shapes inspired by 80s electronic design – a quiet nod to my long-standing Depeche-influenced style.

Better SEO and Structure
I rebuilt the entire SEO foundation – schema, URLs, internal links, performance and local search. The site now ranks better for Divi fixes, bespoke WooCommerce work, technical development and Teesside web design.
A Home for Case Studies and Articles
The new project pages highlight the work I’ve delivered for businesses across the UK, with detailed write-ups, screenshots and behind-the-scenes notes. The blog (“Behind The Screen”) now has space for technical posts, Divi fixes, plugin updates and long-form articles.

A Website That Finally Feels Like Me
Clean, fast and intentional – with the design style I naturally gravitate toward. It finally reflects both my experience and my creative influences.
